ABOUT US

Science Education for Students with Disabilities exists to promote and advance the teaching of science and the development of curricula and instructional materials for students at all levels, with any manners of disability in the learning process.

The goals of SESD are:

To disseminate information concerning the development of science materials and strategies for accommodations for students with special needs;

• To promote science as a variable career option for students with disabilities;

• To develop publications that deal with science for students with disabilities;

• To stimulate research related to the general area of science education for students with disabilities;

• To collaborate with other organizations with similar purposes;

• To utilize and work with technologies and strategies that impact both teachers and students with disabilities in the science learning environment.
